Automatic versus manual system table creation
For some
IBM
®
products, you can choose whether to allow the installer to create the system tables in the database.
If you choose to allow the installer to create the system tables, you must provide information that enables the installer to connect to the product database you created in an earlier step. Typically, this information includes:
The database type
The name of the database server
The port on which the server listens
The database name or schema ID
A login and password for the database
If you choose to create the system tables manually, you must use your database client to run the SQL scripts provided with your product installation.
