To add an event pattern
On the Events tab on the Interactive Channel page, you can define event patterns to identify patterns of visitor activity and behavior, and complete specific actions when those patterns are identified. Use the Add Event Pattern icon on the Interactive Channel toolbar to add an event pattern.
1.
Click the Add Event Pattern icon on the Interactive Channel toolbar.
2.
On the General tab, give the pattern a name, description, and start and end dates, and specify whether it is enabled.
3.
On the Pattern tab, specify the pattern type and select one or more events that must occur to fulfil the event pattern and set its state to true.
Optionally, specify an extended time span during which the pattern retains its true state before it resets and begins evaluating events again.
4.
On the Actions tab, specify which actions should occur when the event pattern criteria are met.
5.
Click Save and Return to close the Event Pattern dialog, or click Save and Add Another to save the event pattern and create an event pattern.
After you create event patterns, they become available within the design environment, appearing in interactive flowcharts in Select, Decision, and PopulateSeg process boxes, and in the Interact List process box in batch flowcharts. In those flowchart processes, you can define your queries so that, when the event patterns are identified, the actions you define are executed and the visitor is presented with the appropriate offers.
