Modes of installation

The IBM® EMM suite installer can run in one of the following modes: X Window System mode, console mode, or silent mode (also called the unattended mode). Select a mode that suits your requirements when you install Opportunity Detection.

X Window System mode mode

Use the X Window System mode for UNIX™ to install Opportunity Detection by using the graphical user interface.

Console mode

Use the console mode to install Opportunity Detection by using the command-line window.

To display the Installer screens correctly in console mode, configure your terminal software to support UTF-8 character encoding. Other character encoding, such as ANSI, will not render the text correctly, and some information will not be readable.

Silent mode

Use the silent or unattended mode to install Opportunity Detection multiple times. The silent mode uses response files for installation, and does not require user input during the installation process.
