Defining the recipient list
Use the Output tab of the eMessage process to define the recipient list as an Output List Table (OLT). With the Output tab, you can select recipients and recipient data in your marketing databases and associate the information with a personalization field.
To define the output list table, you define the following characteristics of the list. name the list, define personalization fields, and enter a display name for each personalization field.

To add a personalization field to the OLT, you select a field from the list of available fields in your marketing database. You can then map the available field to a personalization field that has already been added to the OLT, or you can create a new personalization field. You can also reference a generated field or a derived field when defining a personalization field. For any of the fields that you reference when defining personalization fields, you can use the Profile function to preview a list of distinct values and their frequency of occurrence for fields that you select.
This procedure creates a definition for the OLT. It does not create the table or move data. To create and populate the OLT so that it can be used to personalize and address messages, you must run the flowchart that contains the eMessage process. When you run the flowchart to populate the OLT, information is copied from your marketing database to fields in the OLT.
1.
In the flowchart that contains the eMessage process, open the eMessage process for edit.
2.
In the Recipient List Name field, enter a name for the list, or accept the default name. This is the name of the list that appears in the configuration of a messaging campaign.
The actual table name for the OLT as listed in the Campaign schema is assigned automatically and appears in the Physical table name field.
3.
In the Available Fields table, select a field that you want to map to a personalization field in the OLT.
Optionally, do either of the following.
*
Click Profile to preview a list of distinct values and how frequently they occur in the selected field.
*
Click Derived Fields to create a data source using a derived field.
4.
Click Add to map the selected available field to a personalization field. Click Remove to remove the mapping between the personalization field and the data source.
When you add the field to the OLT, the name of the field that you are adding appears in the Field name field in the Selected as Personalization Fields grid.
5.
In the Display Name column, enter a name for the personalization field. You can accept the default name or overwrite it.
6.
To create and populate the OLT, run the flowchart that contains the eMessage process.
