About character encodings
A character encoding is the means by which human language is represented on a computer. Many different encodings are used to represent different languages. In order to configure your IBM® application to work with non-ASCII languages, you need to understand the character encodings used to store textual data in both your files and your databases. Special cases in character encoding occur in some text formats. For more details, see The encoding of text in character-based fields.
The supported encodings are listed in Character encodings in Campaign.
