Order of upgrading
The same considerations described in Marketing Platform requirement apply when you upgrade with one exception.
An Interact 8.x runtime can run an Interact 7.x deployment; therefore, you should upgrade your runtime environments before your design environment.
Also be aware that you must successfully upgrade Marketing Platform prior to or at the same time as the upgrade of any other IBM® EMM product. You cannot upgrade any IBM® EMM products without also upgrading Marketing Platform to the compatible release.

If you are trying to install a product over an existing version from which the upgrade is not supported, you will receive a message allowing you to cancel the installation or continue with the new install.
