IBM® Campaign installation checklist
The following steps provide an overview of a basic Campaign installation. Details are provided in the rest of this guide.
A. Prepare for the installation
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
B. Prepare data sources for Campaign
1.
Work with a database administrator to create a database or schema for the Campaign system tables.
2.
Create ODBC or native connections to the Campaign system tables and customer (user) tables.
3.
Add the database drivers to the web application server classpath.
4.
Create JDBC connections to the Campaign and Marketing Platform system tables, using the required and recommended JNDI names.
C. Install Campaign
1.
See Information required to install all IBM EMM products.
2.
Obtain the Campaign and report package installers.
3.
With the Marketing Platform installed, deployed, and running, install Campaign.
D. Configure Campaign before deployment
1.
If you did not allow the Campaign installer to create the system tables automatically, use the provided SQL scripts to create and populate the system tables.
2.
If the installer was unable to register Campaign, use Marketing Platform utilities to register manually.
3.
If you install on UNIX and need to enable access to database types other than the one in which the system tables reside, add database environment variables and library paths to the startup script.
E. Deploy the Campaign web application
1.
2.
You can start the server directly or (on a Windows installation) install it as a service on your operating system.
F. Configure Campaign after deployment
1.
Confirm that the Campaign listener is running. The listener must be running before you can work with any Campaign features.
2.
Set up an IBM® system user in the Settings > Users area to hold data source credentials.
3.
For each database or schema that your installation of Campaign will use, import the templates appropriate for the vendor or vendors. Then use the templates to create a set of database configuration properties for each database or schema.
4.
Set the database properties and other required properties on the Settings > Configuration page.
5.
Map your customer (user) tables.
6.
Confirm that you can create a campaign and a flowchart.
7.
If you are integrating Campaign with other IBM® applications, configure the integration.
