You can upgrade to Campaign 9.0 from version 8.5.x.x. or 8.6.x.x only. If you have a prior version of
Campaign, you must follow the upgrade paths that are shown in the following table below:

Perform an in-place installation of Campaign v8.6 over your source version (unless you are also using eMessage 7.x). Select the same location as your current installation, so the installer automatically runs in upgrade mode. For details, see the IBM® Campaign Installation Guide v8.6.

Reporting in these versions of Campaign was provided by Affinium Reports (versions 7.0.x through 7.2.x). There is no upgrade path from Affinium Reports 7.2.1 to reporting in v8.6. Therefore, after upgrading from these versions, you must configure your new reports as explained in the IBM® Marketing Platform Installation Guide v8.6.

If you are using eMessage 7.x with Campaign 7.x, do not perform an in-place upgrade. You must keep eMessage 7.x and perform a new installation of Campaign v8.6 in a different location.

When upgrading eMessage, there is no need to select Automatic DB Setup. This option is intended only for new installations, when the eMessage system tables do not exist.
