Stop the Response and Contact Tracker
Required only if you are currently using eMessage.
If you are using IBM® eMessage, you must stop the Response and Contact Tracker (RCT) before you start the upgrade. If you registered the RCT as a service, you must stop the service.

Stopping the RCT manually
You stop the RCT by running the rct script, which is in the bin directory of your eMessage installation. Run the script as follows.
rct stop

Stopping the RCT registered as a service
Removing the RCT as a service prevents the RCT from restarting automatically during the upgrade when you restart the operating system.
Stop the RCT service with the commands that are provided by your operating system for managing services.
