Creating EAR files for clustered deployments

IBM® supports clustering. The supported web application servers allow you to deploy and manage deployments from a single administration console. To take advantage of these features, you must use enterprise archive (EAR) files for deployments.

The master installer can create one or more EAR files containing the installed products that you specify. You then deploy the EAR file or files that include the products.

If you deploy more than one EAR file in a domain, the name you give the EAR file must be unique within that domain.

You can use the IBM® installer to create an EAR file of your installed products at any time after your initial installation. See To create an EAR file after running the installer.
