Step: Configure the markup option, if necessary

Unica Marketing Operations provides markup tools for making comments on attachments. When Unica Marketing Operations users send approvals for review, approvers can place their comments directly in the electronic file, where they can be viewed by other users.

Unica Marketing Operations provides two types of markup tools.

Adobe Acrobat markup: This markup tool requires the installation of Adobe Acrobat on each client machine. Users can apply all Acrobat commenting features, and then save the edited PDF in Unica Marketing Operations.

Native Unica Marketing Operations markup: Native markup does not require Acrobat to be installed on client machines. The native markup option provides a variety of markup functions that can be applied to files in PDF, HTML, JPG, PNG, GIF, and BMP format. Users can mark up whole web sites if a URL is supplied. The comments can then be saved in Unica Marketing Operations. This is the default option.

The markup option is a global setting. (You cannot enable different markup options for different groups of users.)

Optional. Configure the Adobe markup option

After you have deployed the Unica Marketing Operations application, the system is configured to use the native markup option by default. If you want to use the Adobe option, select Settings > Configuration > Marketing Operations > umoConfiguration > markup.

Then configure the markup properties with the following values:

markupServerType—Set to "SOAP"

markupServerURL—Set to the URL for the computer hosting the Marketing Operations server, including the number of the port where the web application server will be listening. The URL must contain the fully qualified host name. If should include the path shown here, with your values substituted for plan_server and port.
