Metrics specification files

A metrics specification file is the file in which the Metric Editor stores information about the metrics you create. Although specification files are in XML format, Unica Marketing Operations cannot read specification files. When you export data from the Metric Editor, the editor takes the data from the specification file and writes it to a map file that Unica Marketing Operations can read.

Because each time you update metrics in Unica Marketing Operations, all existing metrics are deleted, Unica recommends you use only one specification file.

You should not save specification files to a folder that is under your Unica Marketing Operations installation. Doing so can cause problems when you export templates.
