Metric Editor Metric Dimensions screen

The metric dimensions screen contains the following sections:

List area: the top portion of the screen lists metric dimensions, and some data for each.

Buttons: the center of the screen contains buttons for performing various actions. Additionally, the bottom of the screen contains buttons used when creating or editing a metric dimension.

Definition area: the bottom portion of the screen contains fields used when creating or editing a metric dimension. It contains the same fields as the list area.

These tables describe each section and its contents:

List/Definition Area

Field	Description
#	Displayed only in the list area. Indicates the order of the metric dimensions as they appear in an object’s Tracking tab. Use the Move up and Move down buttons to reorder.
Display Name	Name of the metric dimension that is displayed in Unica Marketing Operations.
Description	Descriptive text for the dimension, useful for determining each dimension’s purpose.
Type	Choose the type of the metric dimension: Actual: use for actual metrics, either entered manually or loaded into Unica Marketing Operations from Unica Campaign or some other tracking software. Target: use for metrics that your organization uses for planning and setting targets. Target dimensions are the only dimensions that display in the wizards used to create objects. Other: use for non-actual dimensions that you do not want to display in the wizards used to create objects.

Buttons (center of the screen)

Field	Description
New	Click to create a new dimension; the fields in the definition area of the screen are cleared.
Delete	Click to delete the selected dimension. Use caution when using this button. It is designed only to remove a newly created dimension that, for whatever reason, you feel is not needed. The Metric Editor will allow you to delete metric dimensions that are used; doing so will likely cause errors.
Move up / Move down	Click to change the display order of the metric dimensions on an object’s Tracking tab.
