Interact basic installation checklist
This section provides a summarized, high-level overview of the steps required to perform a basic installation of Interact. Each of the steps listed here is explained in more detail elsewhere in this documentation, as indicated.
Prepare data sources
1.
Work with a database administrator to create the databases or schemas for the Interact runtime and design time system tables.
2.
If necessary, create the ODBC or native connections to the database that holds the design environment test run tables.
3.
Add the database drivers to the classpath of the web application servers where the design time and runtime components are installed.
4.
Create JDBC connections to the Interact, Campaign, and Marketing Platform system tables, using the required and recommended JNDI names.
Install IBM® Interact
1.
Download or locate the media containing the IBM® , Interact, and Interact report package installers.
2.
Gather the required database and web application server information.
3.
With the Marketing Platform installed, install the Interact components.
Configure IBM® Interact before deployment
1.
Use the provided SQL scripts to create and populate the Interact design time and runtime system tables.
2.
If the installer was unable to register IBM® Interact, use Marketing Platform utilities to register manually.
Deploy IBM® Interact
1.
Follow the deployment guidelines to deploy the Interact runtime component (the design time component is deployed when Campaign is deployed).
Configure IBM® Interact after deployment
1.
Set up system users to access the runtime and design environments.
2.
Set the required database properties to configure the design and runtime environments on the Settings > Configuration page.
3.
Log in to Campaign to verify the design environment, and access the runtime URL provided in this guide to verify the runtime environment.
