Interact upgrade scenarios
Follow these guidelines for upgrading to the new version of Interact.
Source version
Upgrade path
Any 5.x or 6.x version
Perform a new installation of the new version of Interact in a new location.

There is no upgrade path from Interact 5.x or 6.x to the new version of Interact.
Any 7.x or 8.x version
1.
Perform an in-place installation of the new version over your old version.
Use the Interact installer for both the design environment and the runtime environment.

You must upgrade Campaign before upgrading your Interact design environment.

Run the upgrade tools to upgrade configuration settings, files, and data from your source Interact version.
3.
Upgrade your reports following the instructions in the chapter "Upgrading Reports" in the Marketing Platform Installation Guide.
