Creating personalized email and hosted landing pages
IBM® Unica® eMessage provides various message composition and personalization features that you can use to customize large volumes of email messages for individual recipients. You can also personalize landing pages linked to the email. Each message or page is personalized with recipient-specific information and metadata from the recipient list (the Output List Table, or OLT) referenced in the mailing configuration.
In eMessage, you create personalized email by modifying a base HTML document that defines the structure and layout of the email message. The base HTML document is referred to as a template. Template designers can include personalization elements in the HTML code or define zones within the template that allow you to modify the document by adding personalized content later. You can also define rules that change the content presented to each email recipient, based on criteria that you specify in the rule.
Landing pages in eMessage are personalized web pages and online forms hosted by IBM® that you can link to personalized email messages. Landing pages hosted by IBM® allow you to continue interacting with your customer after the email. Through landing pages, you can provide additional information, offer more options, and to solicit input. Because IBM® hosts the landing pages, you do not need to rely on your corporate information technology staff to maintain the pages. You can independently create and maintain landing pages using the same composition and customization features that you use to create personalized email.
